A wild three weeks in 2008, roaming independently around a nation we didn't understand nor speak much of the language; to the far north of Harbin, the bustle of Hong Kong and Beijing, and the tradition of Xian, Chengdu and Emei Shan. Trains, taxi drivers, and good old feet made for a wonderfully non-tourist experience of this magical land.
